This early version of the catalogue brings together information about datasets across our data services, helping researchers, innovators and policymakers find, understand and access the data they need to drive discovery and innovation.

Why have a data catalogue?

The UK generates world-leading research data, but finding and understanding that data can be challenging. The Smart Data Research UK data catalogue exists to make this process easier by:

Connecting people to smart data: bringing together metadata from multiple research programmes and data holders.
Improving visibility: making datasets discoverable, easier to cite and share.
Building confidence: showing how data is governed, accessed and used responsibly.
Saving time: providing a single, searchable entry point to UK research data.

By cataloguing data in one place, we make discovery simpler, faster and more transparent.

How to use the catalogue

Search or browse
